NHS Pharmacy First Scotland is a new service which offers consultations and advice to patients with minor illnesses and is available in all community pharmacies across Scotland. It replaces the Minor Ailments Service and is available to all Scottish residents.
The pharmacist or a member of our team can help you by way of providing advice, treatment and if appropriate, referral to another Healthcare Provider such as a GP or Optometrist.
Examples of some conditions we can treat on this service are acne, allergies, backache, cold sores, cystitis (in women), diarrohea, head ache, head lice, mouth ulcers, period pain, sore throat, threadworms, thrush, warts and verrucas.
Download LeafletThis free service is an extension of the Pharmacy First Service and utilises the skills of Pharmacist Independent Prescribers to broaden the scope of treatment options and treatable conditions beyond those treatable under the standard service.
We are proud to offer this service in all our family owned pharmacies – the service is available on a walk in basis.
Examples of some conditions we can treat on this service are urinary tract infections, ear pain, cellulitis, infected eczema or bites, shingles, severe hayfever and impetigo.
